Some basic criteria are used (D. Swift Univ. Washington)
for the data quality now:
- A data of float that is older than 30 days rejectes for
GTS publication.
- A float that has not a valid location fix is rejected
as required for GTS publication.
- A data of float with a gap between adjacent observations
that exceeds 300 dbars is rejected.
- A data of float with not monotonic increasing of pressure
is rejected.
- A data of float with abrupt changes in values of temperature
and salinity (more than 3 sigma) is rejected.
